Murdock reference sheet

I usually don't do ref sheets for my NPCs, but this one has been so popular these last few months among people who don't even know what we're playing, I had to make this.

He is one of my favourite Nosferatu images: the one who tries too desperately to save his Humanity. I have noticed from official builds, that the Nosferatu are whether low-humanity or high-humanity characters, and I can understand why. He started loosing it few decades ago very quickly, and now tries hard not to turn into a monster. The fact he is a love interest for a player only helps it.
At first, I must admit, I was very sceptical towards it. The player had bought a "True Love" merit, but "on a perspective", meaning, he wanted to find his True Love after the game started, not before. He thought it'd be some mortal musician or something, but the character said he fell for a Primogen. I'm very sceptical towards all love affairs among Kindred, even if official sources show it's a normal thing while the Core book says it isn't... I just try not to go there.
However, becoming involved with the player had made this character very interesting. It influences the balance in the city, and plays on Murdock's fears and hopes very nicely. I would like for him to fall back for the player, as it'll mean some very curious things happening, such as the disgrace of the clan in the City (the Nosferatu are the most cherished by the Prince), the destruction of century-old alliances and the forging of new ones... in other words, some very interesting stuff. Seeing he is very humane and romantic, he probably can fall in love. If only the player didn't try so hard to make him.

Murdock is something around 550 years old, but he was active less then a half of his age. Most of the time he had spent in solitude and great depression over the Embrace; not in a Torpor, but more of the constant Frenzy/Rotschreck, submitting to the beast. Therefore, he is significantly weaker then other Kindred of his age. Moreover, he is a diplomat, he is good at organising people and their jobs, and is almost useless in anything else. The two things keeping him alive are the alliances he had made due to his talents, and the fact he's a coward and "was too scared to die", a.k.a., never did anything dangerous.
His main fear, though, is and always was being alone. As a human, he just desired to be with someone; as a Kindred, he wishes to lead the clan and be loved by it (which is a hard thing to achieve, as through Embrace he puts his Childer through excruciating pain and turns into monsters). Deep inside, though, he is more of Toreador: he's romantic and passionate, he enjoys art (even if often in a wicked way), he loves people and he easily embraces new ways, whether manners or technology.

edit: also, I've made him gay as a joke, since one yaoi-loving girl asked if there are any gay vamps in the module; I didn't think it'll turn out like this, really!
